Sydney Opera House
The Opening Ceremony will take place on the forecourt of the World Heritage listed Sydney Opera House renowned as a masterpiece of 20th century architecture. A warm ‘Aussie’ welcome awaits the 500 competitors from the 18 participating nations, their family and friends. Space on the Opera House forecourt is extremely limited, and will be reserved for our wounded warriors and their accompanying family, friends and travelling supporters from the 18 nations.
The ABC will broadcast the Opening Ceremony live on ABC 1 across Australia and coverage will be available internationally through our broadcast partners and live streaming online so everyone, no matter where they are, can embrace the occasion.
