Weather

Tonight’s Opening Ceremony is a significant event for everyone involved but particularly for the competitors and their accompanying family and friends who have been looking forward to being on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House for a fabulous Aussie welcome. In the event of severe weather for the Opening Ceremony plans are in place to relocate people under cover until it is safe for them to resume their seats.

The most important thing for all of us is to ensure the safety of participants, spectators and our workforce. We’re hoping for good weather but if that’s not the case we will still be going ahead with our events over the weekend as planned.

We remind everyone who is attending outdoor events over the weekend to dress appropriately. Also a reminder that while you can take an umbrella you may not be able to use it if it impacts others at the venue.
