Dancing in the seats

Time was called on Invictus Games Toronto 2017 late Saturday, but not before one last celebration which had competitors, their families and friends, dancing in their seats.

Having stolen the show throughout the week, the closing ceremony gave competitors a chance to be spectators and they enjoyed rousing performances from international acts including Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams and Kelly Clarkson. Read more about the Invictus Games Toronto 2017 closing ceremony on the Toronto 2017 website.

During the ceremony, Australian co-captains Sergeant Peter Rudland and Captain Emma Kadziolka accepted the Invictus Games flag from their Canadian counterparts. The flag will now make the journey from Toronto to Sydney.

In a little over a year, Australia’s famous harbour city will play host to the fourth Invictus Games, welcoming 550 competitors from 18 nations along with their family and friends for a week-long celebration of sport.
